Description
A jubilant 4-verse arrangement, with three verses in D, and a key change to a climactic 4th verse in E flat. Lyrics are included at the conclusion of the arrangement. The first verse uses octaves throughout for the left hand, and a three-note chord for the right hand, appropriate for intermediate note-readers. The second verse uses a pulsing left hand rhythm and 16th notes in the right hand. The third verse begins more subdued, with lots of moving harmonies under the melody, but it explodes into a 2-octave D scale in octaves for both hands. The final verse, in E flat, combines booming chords with glissandos and arpeggios, challenging the advanced hymn-player.
Appropriate for congregational accompaniment, offertory, special music, recitals, preludes, postludes, etc…
