💙 No, I wasn’t there. But through His Word, I’ve been captured by the intensity of the grace and love Jesus displayed when He willingly sacrificed His life to pay the sin debt I owed. I wasn’t at the cross that stood high against the dark sky outside of Jerusalem a couple thousand years ago. But many years ago, as a five year old little girl, I bowed on my knees and accepted His free gift of pardon, life, salvation, and peace. I’m so grateful He did all that for me…and for you! You can’t even imagine how much He loves you! But when you see the cross, you see the proof. You are so valuable to Him!
This morning, our pastor asked this question during his sermon: “When is the last time you thanked God for the exact place He has put you for this season?” I thought… “This morning!” No one has a perfect life, including us. But it is a sweet life, just brimming with God’s blessings, and I’m grateful. He has been SO good to me. Serving Jesus is the greatest life ever.
If you need a new idea for Sunday dinner desert, here’s one of our new favorites! Reese’s Lovers Dream- 4 Layer Dessert- You’ll prepare each part separately, then assemble in layers for a delicious chocolate peanut butter delight.

1. Chocolate cake mix of your choice, baked according to the directions; I used triple chocolate fudge, but devils food cake works well too. Let it cool and cut it into cubes.
2. Peanut butter pie- 8 oz block of cream cheese, 1 cup peanut butter, 1 cup powdered sugar, 8 oz tub of whipped topping; Cream together the cream cheese and peanut butter, add in powdered sugar. Mix well, then add whipped topping and mix again.
3. Chocolate pudding- I prepared two packages, according to the directions on the box
4. Lots of Reese’s peanut butter cups, crushed up into chunks
5. (A final tub of whipped topping)

To layer, start with cake pieces. Top with chocolate pudding, then peanut butter pie. Add some crushed Reeses, then start again. Cake, pudding, pie, candy. Finish off with a tub of whipped topping and put some more peanut butter cups on top. Enjoy!
A couple months ago, my mom saw me scrubbing my eggs under super hot water with a washrag, and she decided there had to be a better way! And she was right. She found this incredible egg cleanser solution and a fancy little rubber tool that made this job way easier, and more fun. If you spend any time washing eggs, you need it! Comment EGGS and I’ll send you the link!
I love singing with him. His voice still makes me swoon as much as it did the very first time I heard him sing around the bonfire at the community choir picnic in 2017. 😍🎶 We sang at the wedding of some dear friends at church today.
He’s as faithful as the sunrise. Have a happy Thursday. 💙
We’re seeing some success over here— AT LAST! Learning to work with freshly milled flour has been a challenge, but I’m enjoying the process so much. And hey, all of my loaves have been edible, so there’s that. 😎 These loaves turned out so much better, and I was thrilled to finally have some success. My mill is from @built_from_scratch_life and I used @breadbeckers basic yeast bread recipe.
🎶 How to Play from a Lead Sheet 🎶 Josh and I are singing at a wedding at our church this week, so it’s a great chance to share some quick tips about using a lead sheet. 😅 Basically, don’t try to much melody. Focus on having a steady rhythm under the vocalist, using gaps in the lyrics as places to add fill-ins. What other topics do you want to see tutorials on? 🎹

Sundays are busy days around here! 💙 My Bible reading had Psalm 27:4 in it today… “One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in His temple.” While it’s true you can worship God anywhere, there is something so special about gathering with other believers, sharing encouragement and praises, hearing from the Word, and growing in grace together. We need the church! And your church needs you! Tired parents (especially the Sunday after time change), it’s worth the effort. Keep taking your kiddos to church. Lonely saint, keep going, and find someone else who needs a friend too! Discouraged church member, just keep going. See who YOU can encourage. 💙 I hope you all had a wonderful Lord’s Day!
Anybody ever sung this old song? It’s in the Red-Back Church Hymnal, but I haven’t heard it since the late 90s. I’ve always loved it. .💙 One of the best ways to get your mind off your own troubles is to pray for someone else in need? Who can you pray for today? How can I pray for YOU today? Let’s share our prayer requests in the comments, and then pick a few that you can pray for too. And tell them you’ll be praying! You may need the encouragement, and you may BE the encouragement someone else needs.

“I Need the Prayers of Those I Love”- James Vaughn (1864-1941)

I need the prayers of those I love,
While trav’ling o’er life’s rugged way,
That I may true and faithful be,
And live for Jesus every day.

I want my friends to pray for me,
To bear my tempted soul above,
And intercede with God for me;
I need the prayers of those I love.

I need the prayers of those I love,
To help me in each trying hour,
To bear my tempted soul to Him,
That He may keep me by His pow’r.

I want my friends to pray for me,
To hold me up on wing of faith,
That I may walk the narrow way,
Kept by our Father’s glorious grace.
