Description
This course includes 20 video lessons of specific hymns, with sheet music attached. Each lesson is about 10-12 minutes long, where Natalie walks you through the various fill-ins and patterns in the sheet music. You’ll learn how to apply those strategies to many more hymns you play!
After purchase, you’ll receive an email with a link to each sheet music file, which you can print off to follow along with the video lesson. You’ll access the video lessons here on the website, under My Courses. You’ll log-in using your email address as your username and the password you received when you created your account at purchase.
Each sheet music arrangement is also available separately, here.
Note: Video courses are non-refundable. Please read our refund and exchange policy here.

Hi Sue, I’ll be posting some samples on YouTube over the next couple weeks! Thanks so much!

Yes, the style of this course is completely different than “Foundations.” That course focused on basic principles you need for hymn-playing in general. This course is 20 specific hymns, arranged for congregational accompaniment. So, each video lesson only focuses on one hymn and its sheet music. “Jesus Saves” is the most basic in the set. “It Is Well” is the most challenging.
Sue armstrong –
Yes what I am looking for is taped music we can use with congregational singing : Don’t need the sheet music or instructions

You’re welcome to use any of the lyric videos on YouTube. Thanks so much!
Lou Tucker –
Do you have any CDs? I love listening to piano at bedtime!
natalieraynesmusic (verified owner) –
We have an instrumental album called “Confidence” by the Raynes Family available on iTunes, and Spotify, and other streaming platforms.
Robin Long –
Natalie, I listen to you play and wish, I could run up and down the keys as you do. I love gospel music and hymnal based as I grew up on . Raised in the choir and loved the patio, but never master except for my own enjoyment. I chord mostly for the bass clef and read well on the treble. Played. Trumpet for 9 yrs so have the theory of music, just not the talents to put it all together. I have an oak upright grand my daughter learned on and still I try and play God’s praises to HIM. I have a heavy heart and desire to learn and master; so I’m praying with these songs I can achieve. I look forward to your program. I don’t consider myself beginner, but not intermediate either… so I guess, I’m just an old in between.
God Bless

Hi Robin,
I think playing for enjoyment and playing to praise the Lord are wonderful reasons to keep learning! God bless! Let me know if you have any questions!
Jenny –
Hi from Northern Ireland.! I’d also love to see a snippet of a sample to make sure I will be able to play the pieces before I purchase.! Really excited about this – love listening you play. X
natalieraynesmusic (verified owner) –
Hi Jenny, I posted a couple samples on my recent post on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/natalieraynesmusic
Some of them start off much easier (Jesus Saves, for example). Some get more challenging, like It Is Well with My Soul and There Is A Fountain. I tried to include a lot of variety! 🙂
Cesar Paula –
Is it possible to slow down or loop sections of the video lessons to break down, and learn any difficult sections?
natalieraynesmusic (verified owner) –
Hi Cesar, I play through the piece at the beginning of the video, but then I go through each hand slowly, teaching the principles that are in the sheet music. There is no specific setting to slow the video down or loop it on the website that hosts the videos, but I think you’ll find the pace of the lessons to be easy to follow.
Phyllis Blanton –
Trying to make purchase but when I entered said I needed password, but apparently forgot my user password. Sorry to be so much trouble
natalieraynesmusic (verified owner) –
Hi Phyllis,
You should be able to send a Password Reset email to yourself, where you can change all of that. Your username is the email address you used to purchase the Foundations course. Feel free to email me through the contact page and I’ll send you more specific information about your username and password, if you’re unable to re-set it. I’m here to help, so we’ll get this resolved ASAP. 🙂

Gerard Jaggernauth –
Good day Natalie,
My knowledge of piano is the chords and majors but when I still down to practice playing or learning hymns it’s so overwhelming, confusing and discouraging. Any advice on which course would be best for me to start with as an aspiring church pianist.
Thank You
natalieraynesmusic (verified owner) –
Hi Gerard,
It really depends on your note-reading ability. If you’re a very confident note-reader (intermediate to early advanced), I’d recommend “Basic Congregational Accompaniment.” If you primarily play chords by ear, but do not read music, start with Hymns for Beginners, Level 1. Move through it as quickly as you can, since you’ll already know some of the chording info. But it teaches you how to play the melody in the right hand with the left hand keeping a chord pattern for the rhythm. God bless!

Leon Stanford –
I have recently ordered hymnals, soul stirring songs hymnal and rejoice hymnal, still awaiting order, so if I can bought one or two lessons just to get started it will be fine, then in bonus month I will be able to buy the entire course. The Rand/$ currency is currently very high.

Ok, I’ll have the separate lessons available in just a few days. Thank you so much. That’s a great hymnal! God bless!
Sarah Sims –
Is it possible to purchase just the music? I’m an experienced pianist, but I’d love to see your arrangements.
natalieraynesmusic (verified owner) –
Yes, the music will be available separately by the end of the week.
Jean Melton –
That sounds great! I was wondering about that, too.
Leon Stanford –
Hi Natalie
I have found great blessing in your father’s sermons. Valuable and practical discipleship daily.
I want to make arrangements to buy the Congregational accompaniment, at least no shipment costs is involved in this transaction.
We are still on lock down here in South Africa, so I have time to spend on the piano.
Thank you for all the valuable information on your you tube videos and Facebook.
I pray that more church mucisians will discover your channel to invest in the literature and wonderfull information you set available.
Blessed Sunday to you and your family.
Leon Stanford

Leon, So glad to hear you’re enjoying the sermons. I’m glad you enjoy the music videos! God bless!
Peter Joseph –
Hello, can I get a music sheet for blessed assurance with notes in the style you play. Thanks
natalieraynesmusic (verified owner) –
I’ll work on getting “Blessed Assurance” uploaded soon!
Chase Grooms –
I am one of the church pianist and I play by music. Will the sheet music be like playing in a regular hymnal. Also a great hymnal that I think you should buy is The Broadman Hymnal. Thank you for all you do and I love to watch you on youtube could you please start doing some singing for us on youtube.
natalieraynesmusic (verified owner) –
The sheet music is not like hymnal music. It’s congregational accompaniment, so it includes three or four notes in the right hand, lots of octaves, fill-ins, rolling patterns, and more in the left hand. The music and the video lessons will teach you how to fill in beyond what is written in the hymnal. Thanks for watching! 🙂
Rosalie MARSHALL –
I just discovered your music on You Tube. I enjoy it very much. I am looking forward to purchasing some of your music. Thank you for playing the good ole hymns of the faith with such enthusiasm and grace. May God continue to bless your efforts.
natalieraynesmusic (verified owner) –
Hi Rosalie, thanks so much for your kind words! God bless you as well!
Lisha –
I was wanting to know, if I wanted the sheet music to Victory In Jesus could I order just the video that goes with that sheet music?
Leon Stanford –
Hi Natalie
I ordered the sheet music of blessed assurance on Sunday, but didn’t receive the download?
Maybe something went wrong.
Hope you can assist me.
Best
Leon
natalieraynesmusic (verified owner) –
Hi Leon, in the confirmation email you received after you ordered, click on the title. It will save to your downloads folder. If you’ve already clicked it, it is probably already there. 🙂 I’m out of town, but If you still can’t find it after clicking the title and checking your downloads folder, I’ll assist you in a few days.

I started piano lessons at around 8. I was just getting to the hymnal when my teacher moved away. I could play 2 hymns with both hands. I told God I would play for him if he’d let me learn. One day it clicked and I could put what I had learned with any song. I’ve taken lessons here and there and pick up things that I hear or watch others play. I love to learn new chords, runs and extras.
This has been the hardest year of my life.(Nothing to do with the Covid) Your piano music has been such a blessing. I love this piano course and how it’s helped me to focus on piano, God etc and not the things we’re facing. Thank you so much. I know the time and effort you had to put into this. May God Bless You!
natalieraynesmusic (verified owner) –
Hi Eddyth, Thanks so much for your order. I’m glad the course has been a help and encouragement to you. Focusing on those hymns definitely helps us keep our thinking straight, doesn’t it? They’ve encouraged many hearts, including mine, over the years.
Evelyn Low –
Greetings from Singapore. I am trying to improve my hymn playing skill and style by playing different arrangements instead from the hymnal after 12 years. I like Natalie Raynes’ style. I have purchased a music sheet, i.e., It Is well With My Soul. What are the music sheets in “Basic Congregational Accompaniment”? I am planning purchase Come Thou Fount, Amazing Grace, Nothing But the Blood, Sweet By and By, There is A Fountain, Jesus Saves, Blessed Assurance.
Regards
Evelyn

You can see a list of all the songs when you click on the course at the top of the home page. Each lesson is titled by different hymns, and you get the sheet music for that hymn when you purchase. Thanks so much!
Eleanor June Grifin –
Happy I found YOU! Happy you specialize in God’s music…Happy you allow us to purchase your music. I studied Sherwood Music School Course–but no Christian music was included. I LOVE YOUR PERFORMANCES!!! I’ve played in churches for years–and am constantly trying to find Christian music to enrich my playing. June Griffin

Hi Eleanor, thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoy the music! Thanks so much for ordering it. God bless!
Precious –
Hi, Natale. I am a beginner. I understand the basics so the beginner piano course is quite basic for me. I want to but both basic congregational accompaniment and foundations in hymn playing. I can not yet play church hymns, I’m currently on the second of the Alfred’s basic adult piano course. which of the two courses should I buy first?
or should I first finish the Alfred’s? I do want to be a serious pianist – play for my church, I mean.
Thanks
natalieraynesmusic (verified owner) –
Hi there, thanks for inquiring about the course. Regarding one one you should take first, it really depends on how confident you feel in your note-reading. If you’re in Level 2 of the Alfred book, I’d recommend starting with Basic Congregational Accompaniment. It has sheet music included. Foundations in Hymn-Playing can be taken with only a hymnal and will give you a broad overview of principles that are essential to the church pianist. Click this link for more info about which course you should start with. https://natalieraynesmusic.com/contact/
God bless!
